I love this photo, takes me back to my Grandma's backyard in Utah where she grew a lot of irises, her favorite flower. I always thought the brown ones smelled like rootbeer! Can't grow them down here, but I still love them and the fond memories.
Really? You can't grow irises in Texas? Well, that's a loss!
I don't think that I've noticed a root beer smell in irises before, but I stick my nose in any iris that I get close enough to. Their smell is heavenly. I will have to try to find a root beer iris next spring.
I bet your grandma's backyard was beautiful in the spring!
Ohhhhhhhhh, I can, I can, I really caaaaaanAHCHOO!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous .... we saw some beautiful irises on our walk with the dog today.
ReplyDeleteThe top blue one is particularly beautiful.

Sorry for the allergy inducers, Foam....
ReplyDeleteDancing,
ReplyDeleteI like that one, too. And it's extra special because it's the only iris I have with that color of flower.
