They Did It!

Mr. CFP and I took my dad's blanket to him yesterday.

Today, Mom went to see Dad at lunchtime and guess what!!!

It's gone already!  He had it less than twenty-four hours.

Someone is enjoying a blanket that is named for my dad.

Or else my gift is in some black hole.

I sure would love to visit a black hole sometime.  Those holes must contain an amazing amount of stuff.

At this point, the staff doesn't know where it is.  Maybe it will magically show up.

My mom is mad.  I'm laughing.  I would have never guessed the staff could do such a bang-up job of losing that blanket so fast.

If it's found, I'm going to have to take bets on how long Dad will have it before it's lost again.

December 19th Update:

This morning, Mom found the blanket wadded up in some corner of the TV room.  Dad would be incapable of dumping the blanket anywhere, so my mind makes up all kinds of stories about who, why, and how...  They're not useful stories, but they're highly entertaining!

  1. Oh no! Already? I'm stunned, but yet . . . not really. Oh my. I'm very sorry.

  2. When I was worked in the nursing home I spent a lot of time tracking down what belonged to whom. Stuff just seems to sprout wings and fly around when you aren't looking!

  3. OK ... all that is needed is a micro-chip tracking device!

Seriously though ... that must be a record for a black hole item.

Just realised I owe you a message ... apologies .. wretched boomerang virus affected my brain cells (they're probably in that black hole too)

  4. G.G., The good news is that Mom found the blanket today. I wonder how long it will last this time! ;-)

Thomas, And here I thought that people were doing dastardly deeds. But it's stuff's ability to fly that's been the problem. Thanks for the info! A much more fun way to look at it!

Dancing, I have been resistant to any thing or any being having a micro-chip, but I think you have a good idea here. And no need for apologies - you can't write with boomerangs all around ya!

  5. where was the blanket? my mom spent the last couple of years of her life in a nursing home. sometimes things got gone, although not sizable items like a blanket. i would bring her snacks which sometimes would get gone and not because she had eaten them. one time i found a little ole gent in a wheelchair opening up her drawers and helping himself to whatever goodies was in there ... :)

  6. Foam,

It was wadded up and stuffed into a corner of the TV room. My dad did spend a short time at a place where there were wanderers that would visit his room, but most of the people where he is now are way beyond being able to do such things.

Like Thomas said, I think this blanket has wings (and I wasn't even charged extra for them!).
