Giving My Heart and Soul

So much beauty along the trail during yesterday's hike.

You've no idea how hard
I've looked for a gift to bring You.
Nothing seemed right!

What's the point of bringing gold
to the gold mine,
or water to the ocean?
Everything I came up with
was like taking spices to the orient.
It's no good giving
my heart and my soul,
because You already have these.

So - I've brought You a mirror
Look at YourSelf and remember me.

- Jalaluddin Rumi

  2. Lovely!

Here's a poem by Rumi that I love (tres romantic):

When I am with you, we stay up all night,
When you're not here, I can't get to sleep.
Praise God for these two insomnias!
    And the difference between them.

  5. Hey Gary! How are you?

Yes, that's a great Rumi. Ahhhh... he just knew how to love with more than his whole being.

  8. Carol: Dunno what's wrong with the commenting ability. I even googled the problem and didn't get much help. I was supposed to clear my cache of cookies and try again. Now why would I want to dispose of cookies? ;-) It's not just with your site, I've been dropping signed anonymous comments here and there around the globe. Some sites let me through depending on the blog host. Mystery Gram.
